Why Clean Air Task Force
Clean Air Task Force takes a pragmatic, science-driven approach to one of the world's biggest challenges: providing abundant, affordable energy while dramatically reducing global emissions.
Rather than relying on a single solution, CATF works to advance a broad portfolio of technologies capable of producing meaningful change — including methane pollution prevention, advanced nuclear energy, carbon capture, clean hydrogen, cleaner transportation, fusion energy, and next-generation geothermal power.
Their goal is ambitious but practical: help create a world capable of meeting growing energy needs without damaging the atmosphere.
Investing in the Energy of the Future
One area of CATF's work that especially inspires us is Superhot Rock Geothermal.
Deep beneath the Earth's surface exists an enormous source of naturally occurring heat. New drilling technologies may eventually allow that heat to be accessed in many more locations around the world.
Water circulated through super hot underground rock can return to the surface as high-temperature steam capable of generating electricity — producing reliable, around-the-clock energy without burning fossil fuels.
CATF is helping move this emerging technology from research and demonstration toward commercial-scale deployment.
